School attendance at state schools is free of charge and the compulsory school attendance lasts for the period of 9 years.<\/p>\r\n<p>You can find the list of schools and educational establishments in Prague 7 City District <a href=\"https:\/\/www.praha7.cz\/potrebuji-zaridit\/skolstvi\/\">here<\/a>, or you can ask for advice at the Department of education. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.praha7.cz\/radnice\/organizacni-struktura\/odbor-vzdelavani-a-projektoveho-rizeni\/oddeleni-vzdelavani\/\">Here<\/a> or at the Department of integration of foreigners and national minorities (tel. 220\u00a0144\u00a0249) you can also ask about teaching assistants or the possibilities of Czech language tutoring.<\/p>\r\n<hr \/>\r\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Intercultural help and translationing<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n<p>If you are not sure you can manage a&nbsp;visit to an institution, doctor or school on your own, you can use the services of so called inter cultural workers. If you are not enrolled in public health insurance, you are required to obtain commercial health insurance. Foreigners with a\u00a0short-time visa may have insurance covering necessary and acute care only but foreign citizens with a\u00a0long-term visa or long-term residence permit are obliged to have comprehensive <a href=\"https:\/\/frs.gov.cz\/en\/need-advice\/?group=0bf8d9ab-d2a5-461e-bfe1-54adb200951b\">health insurance<\/a>. EU citizens can receive medical care upon submitting the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC).\u00a0For further information on the EHIC, please refer to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.schengenvisainfo.com\/europe-health-insurance\/ehic\/\">SchengenVisaInfo.com\u00a0website<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.poliklinikaprahy7.eu\/\">Polyclinic<\/a> Strossmayerovo n\u00e1m. 6, Praha&nbsp;7<\/li>\r\n\t<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lekarskydum.cz\/\">Health centre Hole\u0161ovice<\/a>, Tov\u00e1rn\u00ed 1342\/12, 170&nbsp;00 Praha&nbsp;7<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p><strong>The nearest emergency<\/strong>:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li><a href=\"https:\/\/bulovka.cz\/\">Na Bulovce University Hospital<\/a>, Bud\u00ednova 2, Praha 8<\/li>\r\n\t<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fnmotol.cz\/en\/\">Motol University Hospital<\/a>, V&nbsp;\u00davalu 84, Praha 5<\/li>\r\n\t<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.prahamp.cz\/\">Municipal Health Centre Prague<\/a>, Sp\u00e1len\u00e1 12, Praha 1<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fnmotol.cz\/en\/oddeleni-pece-o-samoplatce\/\">Foreign and private patient department<\/a> \u2013 Motol University Hospital, health care services for foreign citizens without public health insurance are provided here, V&nbsp;\u00davalu 84, Praha 5, <a href=\"mailto:ops@fnmotol.cz\">ops@fnmotol.cz<\/a><\/p>\r\n<hr \/>\r\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Social security system<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n<p>The Czech social security system is built on three pillars: 1.&nbsp;compulsory social insurance (sickness insurance: sick pay, monetary assistance during\u00a0maternity and nursing allowance, and pension insurance: old age, invalid, widows\u2018, widowers\u2018 and orphan\u2019s pensions), 2.&nbsp;state social support (benefits granted with regard to income: birth allowances and the new so-called super allowance which consists of subsistence, housing, child bonus and work bonus, and benefits granted without regard to income: parental allowances, foster care allowances and death allowances) and 3.&nbsp;social assistance in material need (exceptional immediate aid).<\/p>\r\n<p>Once the designated conditions have been met, social support payments may be in general made to foreigners permanently residing in the CR, foreigners who have been granted asylum or supplementary protection and EU citizens with registered stay (primarily of more than 3 months) and their family members.<\/p>\r\n<p>Other foreign citizens become entitled to the allowances of state social support only if they are family members of foregingers citizens with permanent residency and others can only apply for the child bonus.<\/p>\r\n<p>Some kind of assistance in material need is granted to every person who stays in the Czech Republic legally and even ilegally. All employees have the right to receive sick pay and their contribution to the sickness insurance is mandatory by law, unlike self-employed persons, for whom sickness insurance is optional.
